[Case 01]

Uncorking the World of Wine Collecting

[Project Overview]

Navigating the world of wine can be overwhelming, especially for newcomers. While some apps focused on ratings or wine education, they often failed to provide a comprehensive experience tailored to different types of wine enthusiasts whether casual drinkers, aspiring collectors, or seasoned investors. This gap left many users without a clear and engaging way to explore, track, and build their wine

[Problem Statement]

Vine & Verse Wine was designed as a seamless, intuitive platform that catered to wine lovers at every level. The app provided a refined balance of wine discovery, collection management, and investment tracking, ensuring that users could make informed decisions based on their preferences and goals. With features such as personalized recommendations, provenance verification, market insights, and a community-driven experience, Vine & Verse transformed wine appreciation into a guided, rewarding journey.

[Process]

[01] Overview

The goal was to identify the key features and functions that different user roles, such as Novice Enthusiasts, Aspiring Collectors, Connoisseur Investors, and Social Collectors, need in the wine app.

[02] User Research

We examined what each user needed to do and used Object Mapping and MoSCoW Analysis to prioritize the most important features to include in the initial sketched.

[03] Design Focused

I explored how to present key features of the wine collection app in a user-friendly way, focusing on wine collection, investment tracking and wine discovery. The priority was to simplify actions like managing collections, discovering new wines, and receiving personalized recommendations.

[04] System Sketches

The goal was to identify the key features and functions that different user roles, such as Novice Enthusiasts, Aspiring Collectors, Connoisseur Investors, and Social Collectors, need in the wine app. Mainly focusing on personalization, Investment tracking, and seamless exploration of wine origins.

Early Design Exploration

Designing First Impresions

[05] Home Screen Elements

I sketched key elements for the home screen, focusing on how users navigate, explore, and interact. Icon exploration and Crazy 8's exercises helped refine

the design.

[06] Validating the Experience Through User Flow Testing

The nest step is to transition to paper-prototype testing to evaluate the usability and functionality of the initial design. This process helped identify the pain points and refined any interaction before advancing to

digital prototypes.
