SportSync: Where Giving
Meets Game
Sport
[Project Overview]
We believe sports can drive social change by providing opportunities for underprivileged youth. Our goal is to remove barriers and make it easier for athletes, fans, and organizations to connect, give, and track
their contributions.
With this in mind, we focused on designing a seamless and engaging platform that not only facilitates donations but also builds a strong, community-driven movement in sports philanthropy.

[Problem Statement]
At Sportsync, we set out to bridge the gap between athletes, organizations, and underfunded sports facilities in low-income areas. Many athletes and fans want to give back but limited direct and transparent avenues make it difficult to create real impact

[01] Personas
Athletes, fans, and organizations struggle to find a simple, transparent way to support underfunded sports facilities. Existing platforms are complicated, lack real-time impact tracking, and make it difficult for donors to see where their contributions go.
[02] App Naming
The name SportSync was chosen because it emphasizes the power of sports to foster positive change and connect athletes with underprivileged youth. The app is both community-driven and educational by tracking the impact of donations and mentoring, aiming to empower kids through sports and mentorship.

[03] Design Solution
The design approach was to design a sense of empowerment, impact, hope and connection reinforcing the core mission of the platform. By carefully selecting imagery, colors and typography, it was aimed to create an aesthetic that inspires action while also conveying warmth and encouraging.
The main idea is for users to feel that their contributions whether through donations, mentorships or volunteering are meaningful and can create real change. The main point of sport sync is to install confidence in athletes and organizations, making them feel that their efforts are truly impactful. At the same time recipients should feel a sense of safety and support knowing that they are part of a caring community.

[04] Moodboard
The focus of the imagery of the mood board was to create a blend of warm and vibrant hues to inspire energy, action and engagement paired with soft reassuring tones to foster trust and emotional connection. Each imagery is a dynamic shot of different sports to create an intuitive and engaging design with color pallets.

[05] Visual Identity & Key Visual Elements
Color Palette: A mix of bold, energizing colors and soft, reassuring tones creates a welcoming and motivating atmosphere.
Typography: Modern, clear, and assertive fonts ensure messaging is strong and accessible, supporting the platform’s mission.
Sportsync’s UI design fosters optimism and engagement through: Warm, inviting interface elements that avoid harsh contrasts or intimidating layouts, ensuring a seamless and approachable user experience. A supportive and encouraging tone of voice in all written content, reinforcing a sense of community and shared purpose. Illustrations and friendly iconography that enhance visual storytelling, making the platform feel uplifting rather than overly formal or corporate.

[06] Wireframing
The wireframing process for Sportsync involves both low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes, developed using Figma. Initially, low-fidelity sketches were created to define user flows and structure, with a focus on simplicity and ease of the donation process. Each wireframe aimed to improve usability and clarity, ensuring donating felt intuitive, impactful and rewarding while addressing user needs for transparency, simplicity and connection.

[07] Final Design & Prototyping
The design for Sportsync focuses on creating a sense of empowerment, impact, and connection to align with the platform's mission. The goal is to inspire action while conveying warmth and trust. The design encourages users to feel that their contributions through donations, mentorship, or volunteering to create real change.
The prototype of Sportsync was created using Figma, allowing it to have high fidelity interactive elements and refined visuals to simulate the final user experience, enabling us to test specific interactions, and design details including interactions and key features like the donation process.
[08] Next Steps
This project showed me the power of user-centered design and emotional connection. I'm ready to move forward with user testing and plan to keep improving the design. In the future, I’d love to collaborate with other UX experts, create a pitch deck, and bring Sportsync to life offering an impactful platform that connects communities through sport.
